In our beginnings and endings RE topic we learnt about the Easter story - Christians believe that Easter symbolises new beginnings. We made spring time collages using natural things that we found in the playground.
We went to the meadow and explored the micro habitats. We found lady birds on leaves, a worm under some logs, woodlice in a bird box, and a slug on a peice of wood. There were lots of ants in the grass and on the mud.

Science Week- We had a worshop and learnt all about illusions for all our senses. We found it amazing how our own brains can trick us. We also had a go at mixing together different household items to see what reactions we could produce.
What a SUPER day! We had so much fun on our topic day and LOVED having our adults in to help with our superhero mask making.
The children enjoyed making 2D shapes on Geo boards, drawing them and then finding lines of symmetry.
Giant Jam Sandwich - The children followed instructions to make jam sandwiches noticing the imperative verbs within the text.

Our own wild things to inspire our own character descriptions.
We created self portraits in the style of Picasso after learning about his life and his cubism style of painting.
Music of Herne Bay - We thought about the sounds we would hear in our town, used rhythm grids to create piece of music and performed to the class.
There's a mouse on the loose! We went on a mouse hunt in the playground after reading about Splat the Cat and his pet mouse Seymour running away from him at school!
