Hi Year 1 - it is the end of the week and the end of Term 5! Not the way that we had wanted to say goodbye to you and to wish you a great week off! You have all worked so incredibly hard this term and all the teachers are very proud of you. There is a new term 6 topic challenge that is on the website and has also been sent out to you via Tapestry for you to have a go at completing over half term ready to decorate the classroom with in Term 6.
Thank you parents and carers for your support with the home learning this week, and throughout the term. We hope you have a restful week next week, you'll probably need it to recover from this week's home learning! 😉
Stay safe everyone and take care,
Mrs Burkitt and the rest of the Year 1 Team
Your final literacy lesson of this week and your chance to complete your final activity of the rotation. There have been some fantastic book reviews - a lot of children enjoy when Zog crashes into the tree! I'm not sure I want to go to Dragon School - you have planned some busy days and some hard lessons to learn!
Watch today's video and find out what your final challenge is.
Today you have the choice of two different PE activities. You can choose from Gruffalo yoga or a Gruffalo workout challenge! If you'd like you can do both. Have fun!

You will need your purple home learning book or paper to write on today. There are no set challenges as all the learning takes place in the video - you will be pausing it a lot today! We are going to be doing some shared writing and you will be able to check your writing and sentence rules. If you have a printer you may wish to print out the mini wiriting book to complete challenge 3 on as your sentences will then match the pictures (please note the picture of Ben the dog is missing from the video) and the sentences are in the mini reading book if you want to check your answers again afterwards.
SEND activity - if you can print out the sentence building cards if not don;t worry. Cut the card out, read them (add sound buttons if it helps) and then use them to make sentences. If you can't print them out look at each page and talk about which ones could be joined together to make real sentences. Can you swap any of them round and do they still make sense?
Use the clues of capital letters and full stops to know which card goes where in the sentence.
Today in Maths we will be recapping comparing Mass. Please watch the video below and complete as many of the challenges as you want underneath.
