Foundation Stage information


  • The Foundation Stage day starts at 8.55am, our doors will be open from 8.40am every morning for you to bring your child into class. As your child becomes more independent they can be left at the Foundation Stage gate to walk into class on their own. The Foundation Stage day ends at 2.55pm - please collect your child from outside the classroom door in the Foundation Stage area.

  • P.E will be on a Wednesday afternoon, please ensure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit for the day.  Please cover or remove earrings for this day.

  • All of our Foundation Stage teachers will be out of class on a Wednesday afternoon for planning, preparation and assessment time.

  • Children will be given phonics, numbers and words to practice at home, please take the time to read with your child at home on a regular basis as well as practising their sounds and numbers. Please talk to your class teacher if you have any questions.

  • Please can you log on Tapestry (your child's online journal) if your child has done something amazing at home - this could be a day trip out somewhere, some learning that has taken place or perhaps your child may have been helping out at home!

  • A newsletter will be sent home at the beginning of each term to let you know what your child will be getting up to!

  • If you have any concerns or queries, your child's class teacher will be available at the beginning and end of each day and they are your first port of call. if they are not available please make an appointment through the school office or alternatively you can contact Mrs Dodds (Year Group Leader) by emailing or Mrs Norman (Assistant Head) by emailing
