Today's lesson is the first lessons of a new writing unit on Newspaper Reports. The book focus will be 'The Christmas Eve Tree' by Delia Huddy. The first lesson of a new writing unit is always what we call; a 'Hook Lesson' (or Experience Lesson). These lessons are often fun and exciting with the aim of inspiring the children and get them engaged in the new topic.
As our new text focus is Christmas-themed, we have set a couple of Christmas tasks today. The first one is creating a craft Christmas tree out of handprints and the second option is writing your letter to Santa. Have a think about what you would like to do and give one of these a go. Enjoy!
