In this maths lesson, you will be learning how to construct 3D shapes using nets. Early on in the lesson, you will be asked to use materials or objects around you to find or create some 3D shapes. If you have no resources available, you can use the website below to see (at least some of) the shapes.
Today we are moving on from describing the properties of 2D shapes onto describing the properties of 3D shapes. You need to listen to the video and learn all about the different properties such as faces, edges and vertices. Then complete the activities afterwards. The link to Hit the Button is below.
For today's maths starter, you can go onto 'Hit The Button' (link below) and either practise your times tables or your number bonds to 10, 20 or 100. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
The main focus for this lesson is on the properties of 2D shapes combining knowledge that we have learnt from the last few lessons and applying it to work out facts about different shapes. All of the activities can be seen in the video. Make sure to pause on your maths set's work and skip through any other groups.
Maths 01.02.21
In this lesson we focus on looking at parallel and perpendicular lines. Make sure you recap right angles first at the start as that will be helpful for the main focus of the lesson. Remember that you can skip past any parts of the video that is not meant for your set.
