Our topic this term is Great Britain! This is an exciting topic which the children have already started exploring in class. We are hoping that, through the term, we will be able to learn more about the country in which we live as well as studying the local area too! In Literacy we will be reading a range of Winter themed stories including ‘Jack Frost’, and ‘Coming Home’. We will be writing instructions, poetry and a narrative during these studies. In Maths this term we will be covering multiplication, division, shape, and statistics. We will be learning our 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables as well as understanding multiplication and division using arrays, grouping and sharing methods. We will also be looking at the properties of various 2D and 3D shapes and learning to interpret pictograms, block graphs and tables.
There will also be a Great Britain themed dress up topic day on Wednesday 5th February. This will be a dress up day so please can your child wear something related to this topic on this day. This could be simply red, white and blue clothing or dressing up as a famous British person from the past or present.
