Dear Parents & Carers,
We hope you are all keeping safe and well?
We just want to start by saying we think all our parent and carers are doing an amazing job with the home learning that we have seen. We know that it is not an easy task and that there may be days that it doesn't go to plan - don't worry, this is fine. The tasks we are providing do not have to be completed and can be dipped in and out of, as and when you need them. If you need any help with any of the tasks please contact your child's class teacher through Tapestry or the class email address.
We love to see what the children have been up to - whether this is a task we have suggested or something that you have thought of. Please continue to send us pictures and videos and we will continue to comment on them.
We have attached the week 4 home learning pack here and on Tapestry. For next week we are continuing our learning about 'Space’. We will be learning to count to 20, recognise numbers to 20 and to carefully count out 20 objects in Maths. We will be reading, spelling and writing words and captions in Literacy. Our handwriting letter for the week is 'k'. For reading we ask you to take a daily reading pledge and if you can, use the Oxford Owls or Collins Big Cat website (see links below) to access reading books for your child. As before all activities can be completed using objects around the home environment or on pieces of paper.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Keep safe and enjoy your weekends :)
From The Foundation Stage Team
Handwriting Practise - We are learning to write 'k' this week.
Using the website 'Letter Join' your child can learn to write the letter 'k' with the correct formation. It is very important that the children learn to write letters correctly. This website includes instructions of how to write each letter the correct way and then gives lots of opportunities to practise. Mrs Finney has also added a video on Tapestry demonstrating how to write the letter 'k'.
The link below gives instructions of how to log in to Letter Join if you haven't already.
As well as reading books as a family for pleasure it is important that the children continue to practise their reading skills. The Oxford Owl website has many books that the children can attempt to read independently, similar to the books they have been reading at school. The link to this website is below. Once on the website click the 'My class login' button. There is then a username and password for each class to enter. Once you are logged on you can choose different books to read together. Enjoy.
