Today we are going to be learning about singular and plural nouns and how we can change a word from the singular to the plural version.
Activity:
Blue, Green & Red Pencil Group: Look at the pictures of different sea animals. Write both the singular and the plural version of the word. Check that you have added the correct ending to your plural nouns!
Yellow & Orange Pencil Group: Look at the pictures of different sea animals. Write the plural version of the word. If you find writing particularly tricky, just add the plural ending (s or -s)
Maths
Starter: Show children a ruler and metre stick (or something of similar length). Ask them what units are used? cm.
Ask them to write on their whiteboards/bookds an item that can be measuring using each.
Continuing with our work on length and height, please watch the video below and read the challenges underneath
Challenges: Please note that you do not need to print off these sheets, the answers can be written in home learning books.
Circles and triangles: Complete the sheet with one star on the top right corner (*)
Squares and rectangles: Complete the sheet with two stars on the top right corner (**)
Pentagons: Complete the sheet with three stars on the top right corner (***)
Today we are practising our 'fancy' sound 'ue'! This sound makes both a 'yoo' sound and also an 'oo' sound, like in the words 'cue' and 'blue'.
Activity: Look at the words and add sausage and bean sound buttons and then have a go at reading the words! Some of them are real words and some of them are nonsense.
Blue, Green & Red Pencil Group: Practise today's 'ue' sound.
Yellow & Orange Pencil Group: Practise 'oo' sound
SEN: Practise phase 2 words.
This term we are learning to use a new programme on Purple Mash called 2Create a story. If you are unable to access the software from home please watch the video so you know what we are going to do with the programme.
This week we are continuing with our infant agility and multiskills and we are focussing on the skill of jogging. Please make sure you warm up carefully before doing any PE - you can watch and join in the warm up traffic lights game. Just as importantly you must cool down too, so join in with the bean stew game. The videos have been uploaded onto Tapestry as they are too large to fit on the website, sorry!
The help cards are below to check that you are getting the key skill correct.
