Welcome Back to Term 4!
HI Year 1! I hope you are feeling chilled and refreshed after a week off? I don't know about you, but the weekend has put me in a much better mood - I think it must be the sunshine. I went out for a 5K run along the beach on Sunday morning and it was just what I needed to get myself prepared for coming back to school and back to home learning. I hope you managed to do some nice things over half term? I had a movie day with my children and we had cinema treats and they each chose a film they wanted to watch - it was good fun.
We don't know yet how long we will be providing home learning for but as normal, each day you will be able to choose what order you complete the challenges in. Use the timetable below to help you make your choices. Parents and Carers, please can we ask that you upload at least 2 pieces of Literacy and Maths work each week to either Tapestry or email so that we can see how hard the children are working at home and we can comment on it. (Please feel free to send more if you would like!)
There will be our class daily zoom calls (see times on the timetable) for you to catch up with your class teacher and friends. It is lovely seeing you all on these calls and it gives us a chance to explain your home learning, to answer any questions that you might have and for you to show us some of the work you have completed.
We have added new spellings to Spelling Shed for you to try and learn, there will be some MyMaths challenges too. You might have already completed some of the MyMaths before but this is a chance to show us that you really understand the tasks that we have set and possibly try to beat your score from last time. Don't forget that Mrs Bryant also set you up a reading account on the Epic! website so you can always practise some reading at home too! If you need reminders of any of your login details please contact your class teacher who should be able to help you.
I have my fingers crossed (very tightly) that I will be able to see you all soon (and the other teachers do too!) and as we know more we will keep you informed.
Stay safe and keep in touch,
Mrs Burkitt 🐰
