Term 4 February 2018
Welcome back to the start of a new term! We hope you have all had a fantastic half term. Hopefully this term, the weather will start to warm up and we will be able to get out and about around the school a lot more. As always, we are available at the beginning and end of each session so please don’t hesitate to talk to us if you need to. Can we remind you the end of term is Thursday 29th March and we start back for Term 5 on Monday 16th April when we will again be welcoming new children and their families. Learning in Term 4
This term, we will be learning about growing, lifecycles and Easter. Learning will include: Looking at what plants need to grow, growing various plants in our outdoor area, planting sunflower seeds, learning about the lifecycle of different animals and plants, talking about why we celebrate Easter, making Easter cards, and cooking with various vegetables and fruits. We will also be setting up a flower shop & veg shop for role play. Ongoing activities will include painting, arts and crafts, imaginative play, singing and dancing, yoga, number and shape activities, and listening and sound activities.
Term 3 - January 2018
We hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and have been looking forward to coming back as much as we have! We have got a busy term ahead of us learning all about 'People who help us'. During this term we will be doing a variety of activities around our topic such as art activities, role play and stories alongside our cooking, number and phonics games. We are celebrating Chinese New Year by wearing red, making a huge dragon and tasting some different foods.
Term 1 September 2017
We would like to give a very warm welcome to our new pupils who have just joined us and a big welcome back to our returning children, we hope that you have all had a fantastic summer!
This term, our main focus will be settling into Little Hedgehogs depending on whether your child has just started or is coming back after the summer holidays. We are aware that some children haven’t been to nursery before and for others, they have had a 6 week break so for all of them it will be another challenge in their lives. We will also be learning about the weather and the seasons. Activities will include:
· Discussing the weather on a day to day basis
· Exploring and talking about our environment and the effects the weather has on this.
· Reading and talking about stories based on the weather
· Learning weather songs
· Talking about the seasons and the changes that take place in Autumn.
Ongoing activities will include cooking, painting, arts and crafts, imaginative play, singing and dancing, number and shape activities, listening and sound activities.
