Dear parents and carers and prospective parents - Due to the current situation Little Hedgehogs is closed.
You can use the Home Learning Link below to give you access to helpful links and additional resources for your child.
A learning pack was sent home to you with some activities that you can do with your child. More activities will be posted here and on Tapestry should you wish to do them.
It would be fantastic if you could upload pictures of the completed activities on Tapestry so that I can see them and send a message to your child.
I am also uploading videos of me reading some of our favourite books regularly and am taking requests so please feel free to contact me! (The videos are available on Tapestry and also here under Home Learning - Literacy.)
We are missing all of you very much and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Wishing you all the very best in these challenging times.
My email address should you need to contact me about home learning is as follows - email@example.com.
Welcome to our Nursery web page. On here you will be able to access newsletters, dates for your diary and any other key information we feel may be useful or relevant to you as parents and carers.
Little Hedgehogs Nursery opened in April 2014. We cater for 3 and 4 year olds and are very much a part of Hampton Primary School.
If you would like to contact us for further information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone us via the school office on 01227 372159
Welcome back to all our Little Hedgehogs after a very well earned break! You all worked so hard last term and we are sure you will work just as hard this one!
Our topic this term is Traditional Tales and we will be enjoying lots of activities based around this topic. Please watch this space for pictures of some of the fantastic activities we will be taking part in!
Term 2 - Light and Dark and Celebrations
This term is one of our favourites but it's such a busy one for us! We are looking at the topic of 'Light & Dark' and we are also talking about different types of celebrations at this time of year, obviously including Christmas! During this term so far we have had our Halloween party, talked about fireworks and created some lovely works of art and now we are thinking about Christmas - practicing our Christmas songs ready for our Singalong with parents and carers.
Welcome back to Term 4! We hope you all had a fantastic half term. Hopefully the weather this term will start to warm up and we can begin to get out and about the school grounds a bit more.
This term we will be learning about growing, lifecycles and Easter. We will be looking at what plants need to grow, growing various plants in our outdoor area, planting sunflower seeds, learning about the lifecycles of different plants and animals and talking about Easter.
We will be setting up a flower and veg shop in our role play area as well as carrying on with our ongoing activities - painting, arts & crafts, imaginative play, singing and dancing, yoga and cooking.
It was lovely to see our Little Hedgehogs dressed up for World Book day and to see so many of our parents able to join us for the family read.
We were also very lucky to have the lovely Andrea from Bundle of Books in Herne Bay visit us to read us a story.
Term 3 - January 2019
Welcome back to a very chilly start to the year!
Firstly we would like to wish a very warm welcome to our new children and parents who have just started. we are very excited to have you as part of the Hampton family!
This term we are talking about 'People who help us' and learning about different roles and jobs. We will also be celebrating Chinese New Year by trying some different foods, doing some craft activities and making up dragon dances!
Our ongoing activities include, mark making and name writing, number and shape games and also practicing our cooking skills.
As a school we are very focused on healthy lifestyles and we like to do whatever we can to ensure healthy bodies and healthy minds. We currently do a 'wake up and shake up' every morning, a 4 minute run and finish our day with a relaxation and meditation session.
We love to get outdoors as much as possible so please ensure that your child is wrapped up warm when they come to nursery, with clothing named.
Term 1 - September 2018
Welcome back after a very warm and beautiful summer. We are very excited to see lots of new faces and to see some old ones returning!
This term we are looking at Traditional Tales including - Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, Winnie the Pooh, The 3 Billy Goats Gruff, The Gingerbread Man and Little Red Riding Hood.
We will be having a Teddy Bears Picnic and taking nature walks to look for signs of Autumn.
