Happy New Year! Welcome back to the start of Term 3 – we hope that you and your families had a relaxing and enjoyable festive period! We are excited to be starting 2020 with all of the children and continue some of the great learning that they have been doing so far this academic year
In Term 3 and for some of Term 4, we will be learning about Ancient Egypt. We are going to be learning all about how the Ancient Egyptians lived including discovering why they built pyramids and what mummification was. We are starting our topic by having an Ancient Egyptian topic day on Thursday 16th January.
As the children are now moving into Year 3 we would like to actively encourage children to not bring in toys or additional games (including trading cards). These often get lost or cause arguments which can waste learning time – there are plenty of activities for children to do during lunch or break times.
Year 3 PE days are on Mondays and Tuesdays. Children are expected to bring their PE Kit (house PE shirt, white shorts and trainers or plimsolls) into school on those days and should also bring a tracksuit for colder conditions.
In Year 3, children no longer receive free fruit. However should the children wish to bring a piece of fruit in for break time then they are welcome to. Alternatively fruit can be purchased from the hall at break time for 30p.
